Talented Students Inspire in Drama Assemblies

The Drama department delivered some exciting performances this month in special assemblies for Years 7 to 11. Showcasing some of the fabulous A-Level and GCSE exam pieces painstakingly prepared by our talented Y11s and Y13s, students enjoyed dramatic scenes from Laura Wade’s version of Alice, Shakespeare’s Romeo and Juliet and Oscar Wilde’s The Importance of Being Earnest. Also joining them on stage were this year’s fantastic LAMDA students, who performed various excerpts from the different plays they have been studying to demonstrate the wide range of acting skills and abilities that they have gained in their extra-curricular sessions. We are exceptionally proud of all the students who took part.

In addition to this, the assemblies emphasised the wealth of extracurricular activities available to our students. From various drama clubs catering to diverse interests to opportunities to take part in this year’s whole-school musical Little Shop of Horrors.

Moreover, we highlighted our collaborative work with the Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC), who provide a wealth of unique avenues for artistic and theatrical exploration.
